Do you think it is none of your business to do this right now? But we don't know what will happen in the future.
Creating a password reset disk is the best way to prevent you into the forgotten windows password disaster. With it, you can easily reset your password and get right in to Windows.
With it, you don't ever have to worry about forgetting your password again.
It's true that there are ways to recover lost Windows passwords without a password reset disk but they are often complicated and time consuming.
BEFORE creating a password reset disk you have to prepare these:
- a floppy disk drive.
- a blank floppy disk.
- A computer with Windows OS.
- Less than 5 minutes of time.
- A sober brain.
Let's begin! I will take Windows XP for example. Other OS is very similar to do this.
- Click on Start and then Control Panel.
- Click on the User Accounts link.
Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, double-click on the User Accounts icon.
3.In the pick an account to change area of the User Accounts window, click on your Windows XP user name.
4.In the Related Tasks area on the left, click the Prevent a forgotten password link.
5.When the Forgotten Password Wizard window appears, click Next
6.On the next screen, verify that a blank floppy disk is inserted in your floppy disk drive.
Click Next to continue.
7.With the disk still in the drive, enter your current account password in the text box and click Next.
8.0Windows XP will now create the password reset disk.
When the progress indicator shows 100% complete, click Next and then click Finish in the next window.
9.You can now remove the floppy disk from your computer.
Label the disk "Password Reset" and your "user name" and then store it in a safe place.
NOTE:
- You only need to create a password reset disk for your Windows XP logon password once. No matter how many times you change your password, this disk will always allow you to create a new one.
- While a password reset disk will certainly come in handy if you ever forget your password, keep in mind that anyone who possesses this disk will be able to access your account at any time, even if you change your password.
- All the user accounts have to make its OWN disk!
AFTER Disaster:
OK. I admit that this is the most important part. Because when you read this article, it is probable that you already forgot your important windows password. Read on, and we'll show you the light.
1. Use the "Reset Disk".
Windows XP and further versions also provide another method to recover forgotten password by using "Reset Disk". If you created a Password Reset Disk as above in past, you can use that disk to reset the password. To know more about it, please visit following links:

2. Using Windows XP Setup CD
If the above mentioned tricks don't work, then try following trick which is actually a loophole in Windows XP Setup and a big security hole:
A. Boot using Windows XP Setup CD and follow the instruction like Accepting EULA, etc.
B. When it asks to repair your existing Windows installation, accept it and press "R" to run the repair.
C. Setup will start repairing your Windows and will start copying files, etc.
D. After a few minutes setup will restart your system and when it restarts don't press any key when it shows "Press any key to continue..." otherwise Setup will start from the beginning. Don't press any key and setup will resume where it left.
E. Now it'll start doing other tasks and will show a small progress bar with a few details in left side.
F. Look carefully at the details and when it shows "Installing devices", press <Shift>+F10 keys in your keyboard.
G. It'll open a Command Prompt window. Now type nusrmgr.cpl and press <Enter>.
H. It'll open the same "User Accounts" window which you see in Control Panel.
I. Now you can remove or reset any account password without any problem.
3. Use NTFS DOS tool to restore
Difficulty:Difficult .
So if you are a computer newbie, it is better for you to choose other methods.
Windows XP password First of all, downloads a "NTFS DOS" tool via which to create a bootable disk that can operate NTFS partition under DOS. After the DOS is started, switch to system directory, e.g. "C: Windows\System 32". Change the name "Logon.scr" with "Logon.scr.bak". Get a copy of "Command.com", and rename it with "Logon.scr", then reboot the computer. When the screensaver is activated, you will see that the screen is shown in command-line mode with administrator permission, with which to reset the password or create new administrator account. After you log onto Windows XP, rename the "Logon.scr.bak" back to "Logon.scr" will be OK. This method is applicable to the Windows XP installed on NTFS partition.
4. Try some recovery tools.
If you are not a computer technician, or not familiar with computer system operations, you may feel the above methods are scary and still can't figure out what I am saying. Then you may try to use the software programs which may suit you. The existing windows password recovery software are many.

Last week when my friend bought a Windows XP installed netbook, he created a complex Windows login password to bolster the privacy of his netbook. Unfortunately, he couldn't remember the spelling of his own password the next day and was unable to use his netbook. I suggested Windows Password Key 8.0 to reset the password and start using his netbook again. Let's find out more about Windows Password Key 8.0.
Windows Password Key 8.0 is a useful application, which can be used to reset the Windows login password on your netbook with the help of USB flash drive. Windows Password Key 8.0 is compatible with all versions of Windows.
However, your netbook must have minimum system requirements to enable Windows Password Key 8.0 to reset your Windows login password. First, your Windows must be installed in a FAT-16, FAT-32 or NTFS partition and you must also have bootable USB flash drive to reset the password.
You'll need to install Windows Password Key 8.0 on any other Windows PC, which is accesible to you. Once the installation is complete, Windows Password Key 8.0 will launch on the screen.
In the Windows Password Key 8.0 window, you'll need to select the existing Windows Password Key 8.0 image, which is ideally located as a default option under ‘Choose the existing windows password key 8.0'.

Select the option ‘USB Flash Drive' and insert your USB flash drive in the USB port. After you insert the USB flash drive, select it from the drop down list and click the ‘Burn' button.

When the ‘burning' process starts, Windows Password Key 8.0 extracts the ISO image and copies the necessary Windows files to your USB flash drive.

Now you can insert your newly created USB flash drive into your netbook port, and then reboot your operating system. Be sure to change your netbook set up to make it boot from your USB flash drive.
When your operating system boots from your USB flash drive, the Windows Password Key 8.0 will initialize on your netbook screen. You need to select ‘Windows installation to be processed' and then select the user, whose password you need to reset by typing the number associated with it, followed by the ‘ENTER' key.

In the next screen, type ‘Y' followed by ‘ENTER' to reset a new password.

After you reset a new password, remove the Windows Password Key 8.0 bootable USB flash drive and restart your netbook to log in using your new password.

It is always a good practice to set up a simple password for our windows login. Although we have utility applications like Windows Password Key 8.0 for our rescue, it becomes a tedious task to reset password, especially when you are travelling with important documents on your netbook.
Forgetting your Windows administrator login password. With no way to get into the system, you can't even perform basic maintenance, let alone a thorough tune-up. Formatting is always an option, but we consider that a last resort. (Plus, guess who's going to have to help reinstall all the programs lost after a wipe?) But all hope is not lost. There are a few ways to actually retrieve a lost Windows account password. Read on, and we'll show you the light.
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget your user account password then try this:

If you sure that you had completely no idea what your password is, then keep trying these methods.
Method 1: Take a rest
Sometimes, human being is a little weird. You won't get the thing that you urgently need. So have a coffee, take a snap or even come back after a few days, you may found that you suddenly ‘remember' your Windows password.
Method 2: Reset password with RESET DISK if you made before.
Windows XP and further versions also provide another method to recover forgotten password by using "Reset Disk". If you created a Password Reset Disk in past, you can use that disk to reset the password. To know more about it, please visit following links:

.
Method 5: Make third party recovery tool yourself
There are a lot of tools and utilities that can be downloaded and used to recover, reset, retrieve or reveal existing password. These windows password recovery utilities, free or paid, are usually a Linux boot disk or CD that able to comes with NT file system (NTFS) drivers and software that will read the registry and rewrite the password hashes, or can brute force crack the password for any user account including the Administrators. The advantage is that there is no fear of leaking your password to outsiders, while the process requires physical access to the console and a floppy or CD drive, depending on which tool you choose. And it's not easy, although it always work!
Below is the most famous recovery tool I found:
Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0 - it is the most popular Windows password cracker . It is a very efficient implementation of windows any versions. It comes with a Graphical User Interface and runs on multiple platforms.
Password Recovery Bundle -This is a utility to reset the password of any user that has a valid (local) account on your windows system. You do not need to know the old password to set a new one. It works offline, that is, you have to shutdown your computer and boot off a floppydisk or CD. It'll detect and offer to unlock locked or disabled out user accounts. It is also an almost fully functional registry editor.
Windows Password Key 8.0 -It is considered as the best tool to reset local administrator and user passwords on any Windows system. It creates a password recovery CD/DVD, USB Flash Drive for home, business and enterprise. And most of all, it's the most popular and safe solution for removing your Windows password until now.
Method 6: Make a Wish!
If it doesn't work above, I hope that you have some hacker friends.
Step1. Download Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0 and save it to your hard disk. Take note of what folder you saved the file in.
Step2. Burn the downloaded ISO file onto a CD. * To burn your CD, you'll need a blank CD-R . * If you are familiar with burning .iso image files you may use any software you already have such as Nero, Sonic, Roxio etc.
Step 3. Put in your newly created CD and remove your Windows password.
(1) Insert newly created CD in your CD drive and reboot your computer. When the CD boots, you'll see Windows Password Recovery 3.0 initializing (see screen shot below). If so, you can continue to the next step. If the computer still boots into Windows, it's necessary to change BIOS boot sequence to make it boot from the CD. You can find more info about this on our BIOS page HERE..
(2). Select the user account you want to reset.
(3) Click the 'Reset' button to process.
(4) Click 'Yes' to confirm your action. Or, click 'No' to undo your selection.
(5). In the end, a message box appears, indicating Windows Password Recovery has successfully reset the password.
